As the Administrative Coordinator for the Sakai Foundation, I have had the pleasure of working with Susan Hardin and MediaOnion for the past 3 years. During that time, Susan has been a tremendous resource and a valuable part of our conference team. I was in a real time crunch to get a web-based paper submission and registration system in place for a conference in 2007. A friend helped me by sending out a notice to some computing folks he knew and I am forever grateful for finding Susan at MediaOnion!
MediaOnion provided a presentation of their conference management system to a group of event managers at the Ross School of Business, and the toolbox for academic conference management was a knockout. Susan put together a website for paper submissions and helped me back-load it, because of my time crunch. Going forward, she helped us with the logistics of two cycles of paper reviews and put up another website for registration and management. Because it was a tool designed specifically for my department needs, there were some initial kinks, and MediaOnion was readily available for help, web support, and advice; patient with my novice web skills; and understanding of my needs and constraints. Susan's own experience with conference management and her web tool design skills were a significant contribution to the success of our conference.
